DISSOLUTION KINETICS OF A COPPER OXIDE ORE SAMPLE AND OPTIMIZING THE EFFECTIVE PARAMETERS, USING RESPONSE SURFACE METHODOLOGY

In this research work, the leaching behavior of a copper oxide ore sample prepared from Qaleh-Zari mine with very high grade 5.4% Cu (malachite and azurite) was investigated to evaluate effects significant operating parameters on recovery, including sulfuric acid concentration, solid percentage, particle size agitation speed. Then, response surface methodology (RSM) central composite design (CCD) were employed optimize process assess interactions between effective parameters. order further analyze behavior, kinetics dissolution studied basis shrinking core models (SCM). The results showed reduction in rate recovery an increase percentage and/or size. contrast, any speed concentration found improve recovery. It remarkable that increasing content, beyond certain level, imposed no effect Optimal obtained speed, size, 25.12%, 586 rpm, 70 μm, 12.5%, respectively, leading 93.24%. A study indicated controlled by fluid diffusion product layer model 30.71 kJ/mol activation energy.
